Ottawa, Ontario - December 3, 2001 – Chrysalis-ITS, the leading provider of trusted hardware security modules (HSMs) for e-business, and Kyberpass, a leading provider of e-security software for trusted e-business, today announced they have integrated their products to provide a highly secure, high performance electronic transaction solution. The combined offering provides an easily implemented, low total cost of ownership, security solution for financial institutions, government agencies and enterprise customers who are implementing PKI-based transaction applications.

As part of this partnership, Chrysalis-ITS HSMs, Luna® CA3 and Luna XPplus have been seamlessly integrated to add private key protection and high speed digital signing to KyberpassÇ e-Transaction TrustPlatform™ products.

Kyberpass e-Transaction TrustPlatform™ includes the Trust Services Manager and the Trust Services Gateway. The Trust Services Manager is an integrated XML Transaction Coordinator and OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol) Responder that secures e-business transactions by validating the source of the transactions and routing them to their respective service handlers for interaction with the organizationÇs mainframes and servers. The Trust Services Gateway is an XML-based digital signature messaging that applies digital signatures to all transactions to ensure their authenticity and integrity throughout the system.

Both these products require the use of sensitive private encryption keys to perform digital signing operations. Luna CA3 and Luna XPplus HSMs from Chrysalis-ITS are used to offload the private key generation, storage and signing operations from the Kyberpass software. Key management is performed inside the Chrysalis-ITS FIPS 140-1 Level 3 validated HSMs to deliver highly secure key protection and high performance digital signing operations.
