Kyberpass provides controlled access and secure remote client/server
communications over public networks. The Kyberpass Security Server
is a software-based proxy server that can be deployed by an organization
to ensure controlled and private access over public networks to
sensitive servers within an Intranet commonly called a Virtual Private
Network (VPN).
A Kyberpass certificate server (included with the Security Server)
allows customers to quickly implement public key technology and
to operate their own certificate authority. While not a replacement
for a full PKI from the likes of Entrust, Baltimore, VeriSign or
Microsoft, the Kyberpass certificate server allows organizations
to easily create a pilot CA without the large up-front investment
required for a large-scale public key infrastructure. Utilities
are provided for key generation and key management. A Kyberpass
certificate server provides LDAP-based X.509 certificate lookup
for implementing strong authentication, encryption, and digital
signature services. This provides an excellent solution for smaller
organizations not requiring a large scale PKI or for minimizing
the costs associated with implementing a pilot project.
