The
protection of Intellectual Property (IP) is essential to any business.
Whether this be documentation, invention discovery notes, electronic
notebooks, drawings, etc. a company's patent position is tightly
tied to the timely recording of information. This challenge is made
even more difficult from a security standpoint, when this information
is electronic, and in many cases, Web based.
There are several electronic notebook applications on the market,
and it is a relatively simple matter to integrate the Kyberpass
TrustPlatform into those applications to provide a high level of
information security. One aspect of this security solution is electronic
witnessing, as described below.
Electronic Witnessing - one service a bank, or other trusted institution,
can provide to customers is a secure electronic witnessing (notary)
function for signing documents. When the document is submitted to
the bank electronically, the bank can sign it with the banks' digital
signature and use the server time stamp to record the date and time
of signing. In this way electronic notebook records can receive
a dated and timed, legally admissible digital signature without
have to seek a notary for a wet signature. |
